If you keep up to date with social media trends, then you’ve likely already heard about Threads, the new social media platform from Meta that rivals Twitter. With 114 million users, Threads is one of the fastest-growing new social platforms, and currently, the platform does not allow for paid ads. Meaning it’s a great time to start publishing quality organic content on the platform and building / growing your audience.
Setting Up a Threads Account
The first step is to create your Threads account. This is much easier and takes less time than other platforms, as all Threads accounts must be linked to an existing Instagram account. If you already have an Instagram account, these are the steps you need to follow.
- Download the Threads App from the Google Play Store or App Store.
- Open the app after the installation is complete. You will be prompted to log in with the Instagram account that’s currently logged on your phone.
- You’ll then be prompted to customize your Threads profile. Note: you can import the same profile information from Instagram.
- Next, you’ll be asked if you want your profile to be public or private. If you are setting up a business account, select the public option.
- Finally, you can choose to follow the same accounts you already follow on Instagram.
Threads Tips and tricks:
Unlike Instagram, you can make text-only posts on Threads similar to Twitter.
The Threads app doesn’t use hashtags, and users can’t look up specific content based on a hashtag; due to this, we recommend using keywords from your niche in your post to help reach a wider audience.
Change your “link in bio.” Threads allow for clickable links in posts. You don’t have to direct your followers to “click the link in your bio” if you want them to go to your website.
